History and culture in one of the most elegant residences

The renaissance palazzo Piatti-Reghenzani or “Casa del Cucò” in Teglio

Among Teglio’s historic homes, Palazzo Piatti-Reghenzani stands out for the harmony of its architecture, featuring stoves, frescoes, and rooms with doors decorated with reliefs of fruits and flowers.

The Renaissance-style inner courtyard impresses with its elegance, boasting a portico with three wide rounded arches, topped by a loggia that adds grandeur to the ensemble.

In the 1930s, the imaginative owner Antonio Reghenzani, known as “Cucò,” expanded and restored the building, adding decorations in a popular neoclassical style that enriched its appearance.

Once the residence of the noble Piatti family—who between the 15th and 16th centuries rose to prominence rivaling the famous Besta family—the palace today houses the “Elisa Branchi” public library. On its northern side lies a large green area where visitors can stroll through the charming “Garden of the Senses,” a carefully maintained and accessible space designed for peaceful moments immersed in nature and reading.
