For those who love sports (and the mountains in general), a visit to the Ski Museum of Aprica is a must. Inaugurated in July 2023, it was created to give due importance and value to the history of the Alps.
The project began with the first Festa per i Sciori on March 8, 2006, when Elio Negri, a true Aprica native, showed up with about ten pairs of skis, along with boots and poles. On that very day, locals decided to donate over 40 pairs of skis, and in a short time the collection grew to 100 items. In 2010, the first exhibition was organized.
Today, the museum hosts more than 300 items, collected and donated over the years by ski enthusiasts. Boots, skis, and poles are displayed with the goal of telling the public unforgettable and significant pieces of history.
Among the many curiosities, visitors can admire the walking stick donated by Lino Zani, host of Rai Linea Bianca, once used by Pope John Paul II during his mountain walks: a unique and precious item that further enriches the Ski Museum.
