Have you ever dreamed of seeing a brown bear up close in its natural habitat? At the Alpine Eco-Faunistic Observatory in Aprica, that dream comes true. Just steps from the town centre, nestled within a spectacular 25-hectare protected area, awaits a unique experience for visitors young and old—full of nature, discovery, and fun.
Located within the Orobie Valtellinesi Park, one of the most stunning areas of the Lombard Alps, the observatory features an outdoor educational nature trail. Informative panels and themed paths make every visit engaging and educational.
Created and led by biologist-naturalist Dr. Bernardo Pedroni, the park offers safe, barrier-free contact with alpine wildlife. Animals roam freely just meters from visitors—an exceptional chance to observe chamois, ibex, roe deer, birds of prey, squirrels, tits, and even small mountain amphibians.
Since 2019, the observatory has been home to two fascinating Alpine brown bears who have become the park’s stars. Watch them roam among trees, rocks, and clearings—an unforgettable experience perfect for children and adults alike.
Access is only possible with a guided tour in the morning during the summer months, and must be booked in advance.
