A green paradise for cyclists (and more)

Sentiero Valtellina

Dreaming of a day in the open air, surrounded by greenery, cycling or walking through stunning scenery and Alpine peace? The Sentiero Valtellina is your perfect escape.

This scenic bike and walking path follows the River Adda from Colico, on Lake Como’s shore, all the way to Bormio, in the heart of Upper Valtellina. It stretches for 114 kilometres and is suitable for everyone—from families with children to seasoned cyclists, from casual strollers to weekend adventurers.

With no traffic and entirely closed to vehicles, it’s a safe, tranquil route. Mostly flat and clearly marked, the trail winds through vineyards, apple orchards, meadows, and postcard-perfect villages—always with the Alps as a breathtaking backdrop.

There are over 40 equipped rest stops along the way—great for a picnic, a relaxing break, or simply enjoying the view. Hungry? You’ll find plenty of restaurants and farm stays offering traditional Valtellina cuisine: pizzoccheri, cured meats, cheeses, and homemade desserts await.

No bike? No problem. The “Rent a Bike” service has multiple rental stations along the path, including electric bikes. You can pick one up in one town and drop it off in another.

Breathe in the freedom of the Sentiero Valtellina!
114 km of nature, villages, and local flavours—whether you’re walking or riding, explore Valtellina at your own pace.
