During summer 2026 it will be possible to take part in a series of guided tours discovering the historical, artistic and cultural heritage of Tirano.
The itineraries will lead visitors through historic palaces, ancient Sforza walls, traditional crotti and UNESCO terraced landscapes.
Basilica Madonna di Tirano
Guided tour discovering one of the most important Renaissance religious, historical and artistic architectures in the Alpine region: the Basilica of Madonna di Tirano, built following the apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Mario Omodei on September 29, 1504.

Historic Centre
An itinerary rich in art, culture and history, discovering the noble architectural heritage of Tirano. Walking through narrow streets and small squares, visitors will admire elegant arcaded palaces, noble courtyards, gardens and Baroque portals embellishing one of the richest historic centres in the Alps. The tour does not include entry into the residences.

Castello di Santa Maria and the Ancient Sforza Walls
An easy walk through the historic part of Tirano discovering the traces of the ancient defensive walls with Porta Poschiavina, Porta Milanese and Porta Bormina, together with the remains of the Castle of Santa Maria, known as “Il Castellaccio”. Thanks to its panoramic position, it offers a unique view over the town and the surrounding terraced mountain landscape.

Crotti di Piattamala and the Church of Santa Perpetua
A walk along the ancient border between the Duchy of Milan and the Republic of the Three Leagues. The route climbs from the archaeological area of Piattamala, where two Bronze Age daggers were discovered at the end of the 19th century during the construction of the two characteristic dry-stone crotti still visible today, up to the medieval church of Santa Perpetua, offering extraordinary views over the terraced landscape whose dry-stone walling tradition is now recognised as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
