The 2025 edition of Enjoy Stelvio Valtellina has come to a close with great enthusiasm. Once again this year, the initiative brought thousands of cyclists and mountain lovers to the iconic climbs of Valtellina, closed to motor traffic to allow everyone to enjoy a unique experience in full immersion with nature.
The event featured the most famous climbs and major Alpine passes of the area: from Stelvio to Gavia, from Mortirolo to Spluga, from San Marco to the ascent to Cancano Lakes and the road to Campo Moro in Valmalenco.
Enjoy Stelvio Valtellina recorded more than 25,300 participants in total, coming not only from Italy but also from numerous European and non-European countries — a significant increase that confirms the growing appeal of this event format. As per tradition, the day with the highest number of participants, despite unfavorable weather, was Saturday, August 30, when, coinciding with the 23rd edition of the Scalata Cima Coppi, the Stelvio Pass was closed on all three sides: more than 7,000 cyclists and enthusiasts reached the Cima Coppi free from cars and other motor vehicles.
“Enjoy Stelvio Valtellina proves once again to be an event of extraordinary value for our territory. It is not only a sporting event, but also a tried-and-tested model of promotion that combines tourism, sustainability, and the enhancement of the mountains. Seeing thousands of cyclists and enthusiasts safely experiencing the iconic roads and Alpine passes of Valtellina without traffic is a source of pride and an incentive to continue on this path. As a Province, we strongly believe in this initiative, which brings together wellbeing, environmental respect, and international attractiveness, and we will continue to support it in the years to come.”
— Davide Menegola, President of the Province of Sondrio
“Enjoy Stelvio Valtellina is not only about sport, but also about sustainability, tourism, and showcasing the territory. Every year we see growing enthusiasm from participants and greater awareness that the mountains can be enjoyed in a slow and respectful way. Our thanks go to all the volunteers who contributed to the success of this project, to the law enforcement agencies, the police headquarters and the prefecture, and to all our partners: the Province of Sondrio, Stelvio National Park, BIM, and the five Mountain Communities of Valtellina.”
— Pierluigi Negri, Cycling Tourism Promotion Project Manager, Province of Sondrio
“Once again, a great achievement — and this year with a special symbolic value: it marks the 200th anniversary of the opening of the Stelvio road and the 90th anniversary of the Park. A long history made of both magnificent and dramatic human and historical events. Today the Stelvio and the other climbs of the Park have become routes and vehicles for discovering our territory in the spirit of peace and sustainability. We believe this creates a strong bond — sporting, natural, and aesthetic — between the people who take part in Enjoy or share the spirit of the initiative and this land. A bond that, I am sure, will only grow stronger over time.”
— Franco Claretti, Director of Stelvio National Park – Lombardy side
The next edition is already scheduled for 2026, with new dates and the confirmed format that combines sporting passion with love for the environment. Finally, it should be noted that Enjoy Stelvio Valtellina is part of the 2025 Cycling Tourism Promotion Project of the Province of Sondrio.
