Padrio Five Crazy Down

Tirano – Trivigno – Monte Padrio – Stazzona – Tirano TOUR n. B410 The tour is located on the mountain ridge over Tirano, where beautiful mule tracks, dirt roads and trails wind through the conifer and chestnut woods. The Alpe Trivigno (1.800 m height) is the arrival of the climb and the point where the descent starts. It’s a plateau covered in amazing meadows and sparse woods, that can be easily reached by Aprica. During the winter season it’s an appreciated location for snowshoeing and cross- country skiing.

THE CLIMB From Tirano – Train an Bus Station Square (by car or by bycicle) The climb by bike from Tirano offers an elevation gain of 1.364 m in 17,3 Km, you slowly gain altitude crossing the hamlet of Cologna through narrow hairpins to the Alpe Trivi-gno. Total average time: 2,303 h. From Trivigno Cross-Country Ski Parking The start point, even by car, is just a little above the little church of Trivigno, at the slopes of Mount Padrio (near a fountain), where you find a huge parking place, starting point of cross-country skiing tours during the winter season. Once left the car you climb on an asphalt road and then turn left on a dirt road that, running along some lawns, gently gains an elevation of 1.898 m. (sign step 1). THE DESCENT From Trivigno to Tirano 12,9 km 1.500 m After an easy dirt road and a very short section on asphalt Nei boschi di Trivigno road, you take a military road on the right which narrows in a single track and finally crosses the asphalt road you previously climbed. Follow the asphalt road on the left and, after approximately 300 m, turn right, still on asphalt road, until you get to the access on the left (sign – Step 2 – 1.520 m height) of the mule track to Roccolo Pinchetti. From here, af- ter two hairpins on asphalt road, you turn left on a dirt road that very soon narrows into a single track and brings you to S. Rocco. From the little church you descend on a steep trail till Marto (sign – Step 3 – 830 m height). Then through a long and funny ride on a dirt road you will reach Stazzona and the bridge on the Adda river. Cross the bridge on the right and ride the 4,4 Km cycle path back to Tirano.
