Every year, Aprica celebrates Sunà da Mars, a folk festival with ancient roots, during which residents of the different neighbourhoods parade through the streets ringing cowbells.
This ritual traditionally served to awaken nature and bid farewell to winter, as the community prepared for the work in the fields.
The parades culminate in Piazza delle Sei Contrade, where participants can enjoy Mach, the traditional dish of the day.
It is a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in local culture and share a moment of celebration with the community.
If you are in Aprica on Saturday 27 February 2027, don’t miss the chance to take part in this historic and lively celebration.
