The Sentiero del Bosco Gentile is an easy circular route with stunning views of Valtellina and the Rhaetian Alps.
From the bottom station of the Magnolta chairlift, cross the bridge over the Aprica river and walk a short stretch along Via Clef. Turn left at the first junction, following the signs for the Sentiero del Bosco Gentile. From here, it starts climbing gently – first to Corna Bassa and then Corna Alta – taking you to some mountain huts at 1,420 metres above sea level. The hard work is done; this is the highest point.
Look out for info boards along the route, created by local primary school children to provide advice for safe hikes in the mountains.
This is an unchallenging route. Standard snowy winter walking equipment is recommended (snowshoes, poles, and crampons if necessary).
