Great climbs on two wheels in Media Valtellina

Routes of medium-high difficulty that have written the history of Italian road cycling

Media Valtellina has always been considered the perfect setting for lovers of mountain biking and road cycling, offering numerous routes amidst the extraordinary landscape, an ideal setting for training for those who have made this sport a real passion.

An area that every year attracts a large number of tourists on two wheels who, alone or in groups, mount their saddle and, emulating the best professionals, follow at full speed the most famous sections of the Giro d'Italia, overcoming fatigue and inclines: the Mortirolo Pass, the Stelvio and the Gavia, which are part of the history of Italian and international cycling, and have made the Valtellina the heart of world cycling. The Mortirolo is a real "must" for road cycling lovers, and the climb on the Valtellina side is the most famous (and feared) by cyclists all over Italy: a very demanding climb where concentration is the key to overcome the average 10% gradient, which even peaks at 19-20% in some places.

There are many other climbs that require a lot of commitment and effort, but are rewarded with breathtaking views: the Santa Cristina Pass from Tirano, the Aprica Pass, the Bernina Pass, and last but not least, the climb to Prato Valentino from Tresenda.
