On October 3, 2025 , the Basilica of the Madonna of Tirano will welcome both the faithful and music enthusiasts for the traditional Apparition Concert , which this year celebrates its 521st anniversary . Included in the program of the Jubilee Year 2025 , the event is one of the most significant cultural and spiritual moments for the local community and the whole of Valtellina.
This edition will offer a captivating musical journey through the dialogue of harp, violin, and organ , blending the grandeur of Baroque sacred music with contemporary compositions.
The Performers
Three distinguished musicians will take the stage:
Vincenzo Zitello , one of Italy’s most renowned harpists, pioneer of the Celtic harp and composer of original works;
Fulvio Renzi , violinist with an outstanding international career;
Michele Melazzini , organist from Valtellina, who will perform on the monumental 17th-century organ by Giuseppe Bulgarini, preserved in the Basilica.The program will feature works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Muffat , alongside modern pieces from Zitello’s latest album Graal . The concert will conclude with music inspired by Marian themes, including Ave Maria and Kyrie Eleison .
A Symbolic Event
First held in 1991 thanks to an idea by Tirano native Pietro Maletti , the Concert is organized by the Coro Bernina , with the support of the Rectorate of the Basilica , the Municipality of Tirano , and private donors.
